The theme of this RERC is “Expanding Access and Freedom for the Future of Accessible Transportation.” This RERC focuses on two thrusts that have been identified by consumer groups, research studies, and government or National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) reports. The two thrusts focus on broad priorities ideal for NIDILRR to address: Future of Personal and On-Demand Motor Vehicle Transportation, and Future of Accessible Commercial Airline Travel.
This RERC’s research and development and its core activities focuses on priorities of NIDILRR, stakeholders, emerging technologies, and megatrends presenting challenges for people with disabilities.
